They reminded us that everything we build at aXcelerate is guided by our HEART values – Honesty, Empathy, Acceptance, Respect, and Trust.
Those values have been the foundation of aXcelerate’s journey and continue to shape how we design technology, support our customers, and work together to drive the VET sector forward.

Head of Product Julian Tetsworth opened the What’s New & What’s Next keynote with a clear focus: giving our customers complete confidence in their compliance, scalability, and security.
From ISO certifications to uptime improvements, 2025 saw aXcelerate strengthen its foundations – while setting the stage for smarter, faster, AI-driven growth.

The SMS continues to evolve with new tools designed to simplify admin, improve compliance, and give RTOs greater control.
Our built-in digital document signing tool will soon support document uploads and mandatory fields, allowing RTOs to collect essential information like funding evidence or ID before signing – no more email attachments or missing data.
Future updates will align Agreements even more closely with enrolment records for a fully auditable workflow.
A new Workshop interface is on the way – offering one streamlined view for all sessions, better filtering and column control, and improved attendance printing with saved layouts.
This update is designed to speed up high-volume scheduling and give trainers and admins the clarity they need, arriving early 2026.
Jack (SMS Product Manager) shared how aXcelerate is supporting providers through the upcoming VET Data Streamlining initiative led by DEWR and NCVER.
The new framework will simplify national reporting and enable more frequent, accurate data validation. aXcelerate is an early adopter, building tools for smooth transition – including automated validation dashboards, enhanced developer portal integrations, and compliance reporting workflows, rolling out late 2025 into 2026.

Built using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the upcoming AI Assistant will let users interact with aXcelerate data conversationally – for example, asking "Jane Smith is sick. Who can cover her workshops this week?".
It’s the beginning of an advanced AI workspace inside aXcelerate.
Learner Onboarding has already transformed enrolment processes for hundreds of RTOs – with over 100,000 completed submissions since launch.
RTOs are seeing faster conversions, less manual entry, and improved compliance capture.
Next, the enrolment experience is expanding even further:
Together, these updates aim to create a truly end-to-end, world-class enrolment experience – for both RTOs and learners.
Shannon (LMS Product Manager) revealed the next generation of the aXcelerate LMS – focused on smarter authoring, automated marking, and an inclusive learner experience.
A completely rebuilt authoring interface with faster responsiveness, autosave, better navigation, and validation tools.
Two new item types – image annotation and video recording – let assessors design richer, more authentic assessments for practical training.
Now marking over 100,000 short answer questions per month, the AI Marking Assistant analyses model answers to suggest consistent, standards-aligned feedback and provisional marks.
Macallan College has had up to a 30% reduction in marking time while improving consistency and compliance with the 2025 RTO Standards.
Multi-short answer question support is coming in November, expanding AI-assisted marking to even more assessment types.
A new in-LMS PDF viewer will allow assessors to open, annotate, and mark PDF submissions directly – eliminating downloads and re-uploads.
Meet Alex, your new AI Learner Support feature. Built into the Help Request feature, AI Learner Support gives learners 24/7, on-brand assistance powered by your own curated resources – while freeing up trainer time. Admins can review conversations, adjust resources, and fine-tune the experience anytime.

Max (Product Manager for WBL and Apps) introduced enhancements designed to make workplace training more measurable and connected.
Milestones allow trainers and supervisors to define experience-based criteria, track progress, and verify on-the-job evidence in real time.
This creates a clearer link between classroom learning and real-world competency, with dedicated manager and learner dashboards.
AI will soon summarise logbook entries, highlight patterns, and flag learners who may need support – helping supervisors and trainers spend less time analysing and more time coaching.
Now fully released, the aXcelerate App brings together assessor and supervisor tools in one modern, mobile experience – built for hands-on learning environments.
Assessors can now:
With the legacy Trainer App officially retiring in early 2026, the aXcelerate App is now the unified home for all mobile training delivery.

Mark (Skills Product Manager) unveiled how Skills – now officially launched – is empowering organisations in high-risk, high-compliance industries to manage capability, roles, and authorisations at scale.
Skills is aXcelerate's new Competency & Authorisation Management platform built for enterprises in high-risk industries.
It connects learning outcomes from aXcelerate’s SMS and LMS into a single source of truth for workforce capability – defining roles, required competencies, and recertification rules automatically.
Future releases will focus on deepening system integrations, AI-driven recommendations (like identifying at-risk workers or training gaps), and tools that connect enterprise clients directly with their RTO partners.
